Resident of San Diego County who has been affected by affordable housing or desires to have an impact on affordable housing.
About
The Allgire foundation is offering scholarships in four different categories each with varying guidelines and deadlines. These include the “Mary Ellen Grant memorial scholarship”, “The Mary Lou Allgire memorial scholarship”, “The Allgire General Contractors Scholarship” and “Other at large Scholarships”
Applicant must:
- Have been affected by affordable housing in San Diego County
- Be a High School senior or older. College bound, or enrolled in a vocational/technical/certification training program, or seeking a GED or GED equivalency
- Be committed to helping others in their community through community service, academic clubs, sports, extra-curricular activities, or similar programs
- Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and show potential to succeed in college or training program they have chosen
- Need financial assistance
- Submit completed application with official transcript (hard copy) or school seal/stamp affixed
Selection Criteria:
- Impact on, or by, affordable housing community in San Diego county
- Have a commitment to helping others in their community through community service, academic clubs, sports, or extra-curricular activities
- Evidence of ability to succeed in pursuing academic or vocational/technical program goals
- No Allgire Foundation/Allgire General Contractors team member or relative is eligible for this scholarship
