October Newsletter

Time sure does fly when you're having fun! We had a blast welcoming fall season here at Compass, making October another month filled with fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories. As we look back on the month, we can't help but smile at all the wonderful ways our communities came together to celebrate the start of the holiday season. From spooky celebrations to heartwarming moments shared with friends and neighbors, October was truly one to remember!

The Halloween spirit was alive and well across our communities this year, as residents came together for festive celebrations filled with laughter, creativity, and plenty of spooky fun!

At The Helm, residents enjoyed a lively gathering filled with music, great company, and lots of laughter! The celebration brought neighbors together as they enjoyed grilling up delicious hot dogs and spending quality time with one another.

Meanwhile, Skyline and Mondrian Studios hosted their own spooktacular Halloween parties, where residents and Resident Coordinators dressed to impress in their favorite costumes! Both communities enjoyed an exciting mix of games, delicious pizza, refreshing drinks, and costume contests. The celebrations were filled with smiles, laughter, and plenty of Halloween spirit!

Over at Orange Gardens, residents celebrated the season by getting crafty and creating their very own spooky canvas tote bags! From festive trick-or-treat bags to everyday accessories, residents let their imaginations run wild as they designed personalized creations to take home.

The arts and crafts fun continued across our Compass Living communities, as residents of all ages came together to explore their creativity and showcase their artistic talents!

At Symphony, the After School Program embraced the spooky season with a fun watercolor painting activity! Young residents experimented with new painting techniques and mediums to create beautiful pumpkin-inspired masterpieces. It was wonderful to see so many young artists getting involved, learning new skills, and letting their creativity shine!

Meanwhile, Shoreline celebrated its talented young residents by hosting a special Art Gallery featuring their very own artwork! Residents from throughout the community gathered to admire the colorful creations and recognize the hard work and imagination behind each piece. The event was a wonderful opportunity to build confidence, encourage creativity, and give these young artists a chance to proudly showcase their talents!

At The Orchard, residents got hands-on during a guided clay art class, creating an adorable assortment of handmade creatures! From playful crabs to charming little mushrooms, participants showed incredible focus, patience, and attention to detail as they carefully brought their creations to life. Each piece was a unique reflection of the creativity and dedication of its artist!

Halloween wasn't the only holiday celebrated in October! In honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day, residents at The Iris came together to learn about the history and cultural significance of basket weaving in Indigenous communities. After watching an educational documentary highlighting this meaningful tradition, residents put their creativity to work by making their very own woven baskets! It was a wonderful opportunity to explore different cultures, appreciate their traditions, and come together through hands-on learning!

From painting, weaving, and sculpting to celebrating the talents of our youngest residents, these activities brought plenty of smiles, inspiration, and opportunities for connection. It's always exciting to see our communities come together through art and discover just how much creativity they have to share!

Compass was also excited to welcome a brand-new After School Program at Sonoma Court! To kick things off, young residents enjoyed a month filled with spooky Halloween crafts, hands-on STEM activities, and outdoor fun! At Compass, part of our mission is to enrich, educate, and inspire children to reach for the stars, and expanding our After School Programs across our communities is just one of the many ways we bring that mission to life.

October was a wonderful reminder of the joy that comes from festive celebrations, thriving communities, and creative expression. From meaningful connections to exciting new opportunities, we can't wait to see what's next for Compass Living!
