EAT (Education, Access, Tools)

The E.A.T. Program addresses food insecurity and educates participants in basic healthy cooking on a budget. The program provides basic nutrition education, access to free or low-cost food resources, and teaches skills for everyday home cooking. Our focus is on bringing key nutritional information to everyday life, allowing people to make more informed decisions affecting their physical health and well-being. Many of our communities have communal kitchen facilities, which make the E.A.T. events a fun time to engage, interact, and build community.

FOCUS (After School Program)

Compass’ FOCUS After School Program was developed by a credentialed 30-year veteran teacher. This program offers a fun atmosphere that emphasizes social and emotional well-being, while improving the academic and critical thinking skills of all who participate. Facilitators are supported with ongoing training and a program manual broken down into school year and summer programing. Participants are school-aged children living in affordable housing communities throughout California.
